How To Lighten Up Any Space with LED-infused Fixtures

Lighting has changed a lot in the last 60 years since the first LED bulb was produced in 1962. At the time it was a red light and it was many more years before the LED light bulb was offered in stores. Today, Led light bulbs come in a variety of colour shades and are much more energy-efficient than their traditional counterparts.

That’s why they have become so popular and are now found in homes across the country.

Of course, technology continues to move forward and today there are an array of designer lighting options that everyone should be looking at. There truly is something that will fit every budget and every style of home.

But, perhaps one of the most interesting and exciting development in lighting is the arrival of LED-infused fixtures.

What Are LED-Infused Fixtures?

LEDs are known to last for a long time without needing to be replaced. That is one of the reasons they have become so popular as they are rarely replaced. This longevity has allowed designers to create new light fixtures. These use LED lighting but, instead of using an LED bulb that can be replaced, the LED is incorporated into the fixture.

Because an LED bulb will last between 25,000 and 100,000 hours, incorporating them into a fixture doesn’t encourage more waste, it simply improves the options available to designers.

After all, when you don’t need to access the bulb, designers are able to create an array of fascinating and even futuristic designs that wouldn’t usually be feasible.

In other words, LED fixtures can be smaller and more artistic than they have ever been before. It is possible to create an LED fixture light with detail that simply wouldn’t have been an option with traditional lighting.

Choosing Your Light

LED fixtures are also a good option because they can’t be tampered with. Once fitted they stay in place and look great. To choose the right LED fixture for your home you’ll need to consider what it is you want to light up.

LED fixtures can be fitted instead of traditional central lights. They are brighter and use less energy. In addition, they are dimmable, allowing you to create the right ambience.  But, they can also be used as table lamps or wall lighting, allowing you to illuminate certain pieces of art or other features in your space.

The key to choosing the right Led fixture is to decide what it is you wish to illuminate. You will then know which type to look at and can choose the style that best suits your space and tastes.

Consider The Light Power

It is important to note that LED fixtures have LEDs incorporated into them. That means you can’t change the bulb and increase or decrease the power in your home. You need to think about this before you choose a fixture as you’ll want the right amount of light.

Too much will make any feature appear harsh while too little leaves the feature in shadows or darkness. It’s best to see the light fixtures in a similar scenario before you decide on what power level is needed.

Hidden Lighting

Another nice way to incorporate LED lighting into your home is by choosing items that hide the lights. For example, there are plenty of homes with ceiling fans. These can help to keep the temperature cool in the summer.

However, these fans are usually situated below light fittings and are comparatively ugly.

This doesn’t need to be the case if you choose a stylish, modern-looking fan with LED lighting. The lights are built not the unit, giving you all the light your room needs but dramatically improving the look at the same time.

With the array of designs available, it is easy for anyone to find the perfect hidden lighting for their home.

Learn About Colour Tuning

It’s worth noting that LED lights can be ‘tuned’. This isn’t the same as adjusting their brightness. An LED light fixture can be adjusted to increase or decrease the warmth of its light. In effect, you are making it whiter or more yellow.

This isn’t just a nice feature, the right tuning can transform the way the light falls on a specific feature. It can also be used to create a warmer, cosier room, or to make a space feel larger, although also colder.

You should be able to get a demonstration of LED tuning in the store before you commit to purchasing. Your chosen LED light fixture.
