This morning you left the house in a hurry. Laundry is piling up. The dishwasher is waiting to be unloaded. There are toys all over the place. Not to worry, dear friend, you are not alone.

Having in mind the hectic lifestyle of a modern man/woman, it’s no wonder we are constantly in search of a way to be more organized. Keeping the household neat and clean can affect your entire mood set. And super-clean and organized living doesn’t need to remain merely wishful thinking. Here’s how you can achieve it!

It goes without saying that it is going to take some time for any changes to have an obvious effect. Even if you feel run-down after a long day, try to set aside at least a couple of minutes to keep up with your schedule. The tomorrow-you will be thankful you did. So first thing’s first.

Declutter and simplify your lifestyle and your home

Declutter is your word of the day once you decide to organize your life and your household. Throw away the things you never use. You can organize a yard sale or keep your things in a storage unit. Make a list of daily mini-duties (for yourself as well as other household members)

Come up with a list of chores that take no more than fifteen minutes each. After you do this, divide the list into five or six days (you might like the idea of an off-duty day). So every day you will have a couple of short and simple chores to do. This kind of schedule will keep you busy for only several minutes but sticking to it daily will keep things clean and organized at all times. Your personal list can look any way that you find suitable for your own daily routine. Another way of doing it might be picking a chore of the day. All of this must sound like a lot of work.
