  • An Extra Rug

    An Extra Rug

The cold weather creeps in this time of year and the beautiful hardwood and tile floors make walking around barefoot almost impossible!
This is when my extra rugs come out! For most season, I tend to leave the gorgeous hardwood floors uncovered and enjoy how beautiful view but this time of year, my rugs make an appearance!
Even layering rugs can give you that extra comfort and coziness you are looking for!
My personal favorite place to add a rug is the laundry room! It may be the one place we all don’t want to spend our time, but the warm dryer and a nice warm rug underneath my feet aren’t so bad in the winter!
    This laundry room is gorgeous.:

  • Why I love the color gray!

Why I love the color gray!

I know I have shared my love of neutrals all over this blog. The bright white crisp look is one of my favorites but so is gray. Here are a few examples why:
It can coordinate with almost ANY color! It is so versatile, clean, and to me there’s something calming about it.

It can be masculine or feminine! There are an endless amount of ways you can style it to fit almost any style or preference.
It can be warm and cozy and looks great with nature.
It can make a statement and works great in children rooms too!
I’ve also noticed it’s the best balance between the which shows more dirt discussion! It hides it quite well!
Do you love gray as much as I do?

    Welcoming in the warmth

Trying to make it through this last hump of wintery weather with some warm and inviting spaces! I hope you enjoy:

Living Room - The cool blues of this space are quickly warmed up by the bright reds. The corner window enlarges, the cozy cushions invite, and the unique accents lure you to explore their individuality. I am especially in love with the turquoise metal side table and the blue seat with star-shaped wooden back.

    Wood Touches

In the winter I seem to struggle to keep the house feeling fresh and warm. Adding a touch of wood in a room is a great way to bring the outdoors in and give it that feel of warmth. Here are some beautiful ways to get you inspired:

  • Going Modern in the Bathroom

Most would assume that going modern in a bathroom would make it look even more cold and sterile than it already does, but they haven’t seen all the options yet!

Even with the darker tones for a more manly bathroom doesn’t have to look cold and miserable. It still looks modern and sleek with a hint of color and I love it!
There are some great vanity and shower tub options that are on Modern Bath that can help you match these looks.
There's a couple of things I like about this room: large round mirror; the vintage wall hung vanity echoes the journey to all of the modern interpretations we see today, but is one of a kind - and those timber tones in a bathroom - sensational.
You could even mix the modern with the vintage for a completely different look! It’s a great mix of new and old that comes to life when it’s together.
