    Functional over frills.

When you talking about home decor some would assume that it’s more about the fun of decorating than the functionality. That is where I disagree. Decorating isn’t all about the frills, its about function too.
     :
There’s no point in spending money on a room just to decorate it without considering how it’s going to function and if it’s going to need the need of the person using the space.

Global Views High Point Market Does it Again

I keep seeing stunning things from Global Views High Point Market. There’s something to say about the quality and taste they have.
This time they are bringing red back into to style! A while ago I did a post on adding a pop of red into your home and I think they mastered this. Some of my favorite pieces are:
This bezel border pillow. Such a great way to accent your decor.

These stunning hexagon old world vases! You wouldn’t expect this color to go well with red but it definitely does.

The spotswood rug gives a very classy look without hesitating to catch your eye with that stunning red.

A bottle light fixture to give the room something shiny! You can find all these lovely things at Global Views.

What’s your favorite things about the room?

  • Some office love

    Some office love

It seems like more and more people are working from home. With a struggling economy it makes sense to cut corners. Not having to commute gives you more billable hours as well as less gas cost. There’s also that freedom of being able to live wherever you want, which gives you an option to be in a more affordable area.

With all that savings it gives you a great option to really spend some quality time making your home office everything you wanted it to be.
Say goodbye to that stuffy cubicle and hello to a room you can create just to your liking.
It’s like a whole new world of options open up for you and you get to make it an environment for you to excel at your work.
Even if it is only one little corner in a room, it’s yours.
I can see most people working from home in the future and for me it feels like a great way to balance life and work. Instead of being somewhere you don’t want to be, you actually get to enjoy being in your own space.

    3. Every room needs something living: flowers, goldfish, a pet.
