    Calming color

I think lavender is a surprising calming color that doesn’t get a lot of attention.  So here’s a little spotlight on lavender –  I hope you find it inspiring!

A lovely rug or throw blanket can do the trick if you are the person who loves to change up colors often. This shade of lavender is so pretty
Using lavender in a modern application can help the space from feeling two feminine.  This shower curtain might be purple, but it has a modern indie vibe to it that won’t scare off the men folk.
This bedroom is so pretty and comfortable looking.  And it was designed for a (very lucky) teenage girl!
The lavender used in this entryway and stairs is soft and unobtrusive, but you still notice it.
Are you a fan of lavender?

Beautiful rooms that are eclectic, artisan, and bohemian

I know we see this look around a lot now, but I can’t help it – I love it.  White kitchen, oriental rug, and clean hardware.  Jealous.

I think this would make a great guest room.  The amazing plank ceiling, antique bed, and pretty textiles hanging from the ceiling.

How fantastic are the bones of this room?  From the moldings to the amazing tile floors it looks like a work of art!

Love all the textures and objects that  look like they were found on fun adventures.

What a cool space to spend rainy afternoon reading.  I think this is actually a girl’s room though!

Another room with amazing bones.  One day I hope to have a home with windows like that!

    Absolutely gorgeous, swoon-worthy rooms

So maybe it’s not the best idea to pine after homes I will most likely never own, but A. I can’t help it, and B. It keeps me motivated to work harder!

But for now, with our wedding 10 DAYS AWAY, I need a little serenity.  Enjoy!

    Lovely Eye Candy

To get you in the mood of falling in love today, here are some rooms I’m falling for these days:

  • 2014 Color Trends for the Home – lush purple, blues and oranges….

2014 Color Trends for the Home – lush purple, blues and oranges….

The word is out! (Okay- it’s been out) 2014’s color is Radiant Orchid.  You can go all out with it, or use it as an accent color.  If you are a lover of bright and bold colors, I’ve provided some inspiration for creating color palettes with Radiant Orchid…

If your not sure how to use these colors for your home, let me show you some great options:

So what other colors look good with Radiant Orchid for those of you who love your bold brights?  Cayenne or another similar orange looks good with purple and really makes a statement.

Cobalt and Radiant Orchid creates a really lush look…

  • Ultra luxe, super glamorous spaces

    Ultra luxe, super glamorous spaces

These rooms are truly some of the most luxe, glamorous spaces I’ve seen.  If you are a girly-girl, love the feeling of satin and velvet on your skin, and don’t shy away from drama – these will definitely speak to you!

Amazing mirror, fab wallpaper.  A mix of textures keeps monochrome interiors from feeling flat.

White, black, and shiny surfaces (check out the ceiling!) is instant drama

    …even the rug has sparkles…

While I appreciate the beauty of this dining room, I couldn’t live life without pets and children 🙂

    Love the floor!

Could you live in these spaces?  What ideas could you take from them and incorporate in your living space?

A home with simple beauty and understated elegance

It’s hard to pull off humble/simple and elegant, but I think this home was successful. Check it out:

    eclectic objects add warmth

    dark purple is always chic

love how the books are displayed!

a spacious hall with a picture ledge

inspiration simply tacked on the wall keeps the space from being stuffy – and it’s so cool how the images extend into the next room
