    Fresh Christmas decorating ideas

Less than a week before Christmas to get your decorations up.  Here are a few ideas to keep you seasonal decor looking inspired.

Love the outdoor lanterns used on the porch.

Favorite childhood ornaments hang from the stair spindles – adorable…
I love the sweeping effect of the banister garland.

The crispness of the white decorations is so pretty.

I would have LOVED these as a kid, and they are super cute.

The weather has been so wishy-washy. Teasing us with a 70 degree day, and then bringing us back down by dropping to 50 overnight! But, the leaves are finally on the trees, and the days are longer – so it’s safe to say Spring is here.

…and fresh flowers. The first image is flowers in tea tins. I do this, but my tea tins aren’t water tight so I put a juice glass with water inside the tea tin and just put the flowers in the glass. The second image is a cute idea: use some glass bottles (they don’t have to match), wrap some jute or hemp around them – and you get a lovely handpicked, country centerpiece.

    Meals outside..
When I was a kid, we out outside every evening in the summer. We didn’t have a patio, so we just set up chairs and a table right out in the yard

    Outside Living Inspiration

Now that we have our own outdoor space, I’m in the process of deciding how to furnish it! There is so much you can do with an outdoor space, whether small or large.

I’ve been looking for some furniture that will fit into our space and some great outdoor accessories that are durable enough to stay outdoors.

With a set like this I would probably set up my computer and work outside!

This set is a refreshing change from traditional outdoor furnishing.  Remember that you can always swap out the chair cushions if you’re feeling the need for a change…

I like the clean minimal lines of this table and chair set. All of these options above were found at Oldrids & Downtown.

Now for some accessories for my new outdoor space:

Stripes are a classic, and I think look especially good poolside.

Aren’t these hanging planters adorable?  If you don’t have a lot of ground space then hang them on a fence or wall to create your own version of a “green wall”

I don’t know why, but I love it when indoor things are brought outside.  It really makes your outdoor space just feel like an extension of your home.  Luckily you can find all sorts of traditionally indoor items in stylish outside versions, like rugs, pillows, and curtains.

These outdoor lights are great mood setters and can be placed strategically throughout your outdoor space. I found these on Pinterest.

The talented Maryam of My Marrakesh reveals Peacock Pavillions to Lonny Mag

When my boyfriend and I visited Morocco in 2009, Maryam, of My Marrakesh and her husband were a tremendous help planning our trip. I had been a huge fan of My Marrakesh since before I even started Decorology. Her blog is so spectacular, that it’s no surprise that her guest accommodations in Marrakesh are equally stunning. If you haven’t heard of it already, “Peacock Pavilions” is a splendor of Moroccan art and craft work, and Maryam’s amazing attention to detail sets it apart.

The amazing work on the steps is all stenciling..that door is amazing, too

The Sufi Scribe is my favorite suite…I LOVE the sconces!

I adore the drawing on the wall – so beautiful..

The “peacock” wallpaper on the wall is pretty cool too…

Blue wards off the evil eye.

Checkout the floor, and the lanterns in this suite.

Read and see more about Peacock Pavilions in the newest Lonny Mag.

    Have a beautiful weekend!

We’ve had a rare few days here in Maryland with little humidity, which makes the 80 degree temperatures and sunshine super pleasant. Hopefully the weather where you are is beautiful too. Have a great weekend!
