Wall Inspiration: Walls that Make A Statment

    Wall Inspiration

Lately my eyes have been drawn to some great rooms that are making a statement and I am loving it! Whether they are bold, classy, or just downright elegant, it is nice to see someone take a chance and make something beautiful out of it.

This wallpaper would not be an immediate first choice for me but it definitely does make you stop and stare! Seeing it in this room really makes me love it more! If you can’t commit to a whole wall in wallpaper, consider some wall decals or smaller wall decorations from a resource like https://americansignletters.com/.

A wall of windows is always eye-catching. The bold choice of black makes it stand out even more and I think it was a great choice.

Another non traditional wall paper in a room you wouldn’t expect! Since bathrooms are small I tend to do with less is more in these areas but since the wallpaper has a lot of white space it really works here! I also like the simplicity of the color scheme.

Upholstery tacks are often seen on furniture, seeing it as a wall decor statement is something I’ve never considered.

What about painting the trim to match the walls?

Or making a small space really pop with a graphic wallpaper?

Do you have a different idea for a wall statement?
  • Mixing Pastels and Brights

    Mixing Pastels and Brights

Usually when you plan out a room you know what color scheme you are looking for and if you are going for a more subtle look or a bold look. What if you wanted both?
I’m seeing a lot of pastels mixed with pops of color on my instagram feed and I am loving it!
Lovely colorful breakfast/ dining in the kitchen! Pastel blue banquette seating, Saarinen inspired table and blue painted chairs with a pop of brights in the art and light.:
The fun part about using accent pieces is that if you change your mind later, you can grab a few new pillows or a painting and have a completely different room.
Love how textures and prints are combined here, especially on the sofa - so many accents, but great together. apartment of Swedish designer Elina Dahl:
It is so fun when two unexpected things come together to make something so unique and beautiful.
This is my dream Lounge room, from the Mozi Cockatoo Lamp, Deer Heads and the Horse Canvas, everything just works, it's chic, and a bit kitsch. Just the right amount of colour, pattern and texture. ~Sarah Cockatoo lamp. I want one!:

  • Beautiful bathroom’s with tubs!

Bathrooms with stand alone tubs always make for a stunning appearance! Here are some bold and some beautiful examples for inspiration on how to incorporate your stand alone tub.

I love the way this bathtub is styled.  The art, the plant, the velvet upholstered bench.  It’s so beautiful!

I really like tubs by a window. Can you tell?  This tub and the tub placement seems like the perfect place to spend a lazy evening.

The tub is pretty, but how about those shiny tile floors and the marble sink?!

Rustic meets modern with this modern bathtub.

This tub in a small bathroom was carefully measured for and the rest of the bathroom is kept sparse.  The natural light is amazing!

If you aren’t shy and/or have a lot of privacy outside, and outdoor bathtub would be an indulgent way to spend a summer day!

How would you or have you incorporated a tub in your bathroom?  Keep in mind that you don’t always need to purchase a new tub.  You have options for refinishing a tub or reglazing it.
  • Bright and Beautiful Spaces

Sometimes we just need a fresh look. Here are a few fresh spaces that are not only bright, but beautiful too!

We found a local contractor who custom built the bench for the space. I love the drawers on either side that give us a little more storage. Right now we keep our board games in them. We looked on Pinterest for style ideas, and loved when breakfast nooks had a little character. To get that, we added molding all around and added extra slats for more dimension. • Balancing Bold and Neutral in the Bedroom

Balancing Bold and Neutral in the Bedroom

Life is a balancing act! Especially when you start sharing your bedroom with your significant other. Sometimes there’s a time to compromise, or find a happy balance. How do you find a happy balance between neutral and bold in the bedroom?
Neutral colors can be light or dark! First find out which one you each prefer. You can go bold with a neutral color by picking a darker shade, or added a pop of color.
Keep the neutral color scheme but go with a bold pattern! It could even be as simple as an accent wall.
Pastels and neutrals go hand in hand! Although pastels may not seem like a bold move, you might be surprised how much a little pastel can do!
Do you think you could find a happy balance between neutral and bold?
  • Chairs that have caught my eye!

Chairs that have caught my eye!

I don’t know what it is about chairs, but they seem to catch my eye! I feel like they are an easy thing to switch out and although some are quite pricey, you can find great ones in any budget. They can create a cozy environment, add extra seating, or just give the room something special.
There’s something about a unique chair that gets me every time.
Even if it’s a chair that’s meant to not be seen! It adds a little something extra to the room.
They can be bold and make a statement.
Or tuck inside a special space, but still be beautifully designed.
Almost every room can use a chair. You can’t say that for most items in each room of your house!
What kind of chairs do you love the most?

  • Taking ombre to the next level!

Taking ombre to the next level!

Ombre has been a major must do when it comes to hair this past year and even though it’s slowly fading away I am seeing it pop up in places I wouldn’t expect.

It wasn’t too long after the hair craze, that diy ombre cabinets started popping up all over the place.
Followed by ombre curtains and other home decor.
Ombre wall... stunning! I think I need one. Ombre is becoming big in 2013 in clothes nails, hair and even walls

But something much bolder and much newer caught my eye. Ombre walls!?
Could you picture a room in your home with ombre walls?
