    Inspiring Gardens and Landscape Designs

I know I usually focus on interiors, but I hope you don’t mind that today I share some beautiful exteriors with you.  Now that are home renovations are pretty much complete, we can focus on our landscaping a bit more.  Inspiring gardens are something I have trouble finding in person. I get tired of the same old impatiens and marigolds. We also have an extremely shady backyard, so we are more or less stuck with ferns, hostas, and other shade plants. Therefore, finding inspiring landscape and planting ideas is a must.

As unnatural as it is, I am a sucker for grass growing under trees!

A bit manicured for my tastes but I love the brick walk and the shades of purple and green.

Another example a bit manicured for my taste but I would not complain!  What a lovely way to spend an evening, outside by the fire!

Gorgeous Gardens – little backyard hideaways

I can’t wait to start shopping for flowers and plants for my front porch container garden this year. Here’s some inspiration I’ve found for this season.

Love this – we have a very shady backyard.  Can anyone identify any of the plants or the white flowers?

  • Easy outdoor upgrade

    Easy outdoor upgrade

Outdoor space can be tricky when it comes to design. In most cases, to upgrade your exterior space can be quite a costly adventure. There’s one that I always keep in mind when being budget conscious and that’s a pergola!
They aren’t too expensive, they are easy to DIY, and they can add so much more to your outdoor space.
They create a great space for some partial shade, and some privacy if you’d like it!
You can dress them up or keep them simple but making them look stunning is not difficult!
Making it an addition to a preexisting deck our outdoor space really makes your usable outdoor space double!

You can use it with a wall to hide an eyesore! It creates a cozy nook and provides great shade.
Not to mention it’s great for hanging lights from. Who wouldn’t want to add a romantic touch to your outdoor space on a great budget?

Inspiration for your outdoor space (if Spring ever gets here!)

We are officially four days into spring, and even though we’ve barely felt the warm temperatures around here, I can’t help but daydream of what I would love to be doing to our outdoor space! We moved into our home last year mid summer and didn’t really get a chance to enjoy spring. Here’s some inspiration I’ve found that I’d love to incorporate in my outdoor area:

How gorgeous is this outdoor space?! I love this so much. I can't wait to design our deck ... It will be so fun to pick out outdoor furniture.

I like the idea of having some of outdoor space covered for really hot days so I can still enjoy the outdoors in the shade!

Although we aren’t near the beach, I love the driftwood used as decor, and the big throw pillows for a homey feel.  And check out that giant clamshell planter!

The huge potted plants are stunning in this space. It makes a great sense of privacy for the table and chairs while also being beautiful.

This space doesn’t need a lot of words, that outdoor kitchen…dreamy

I really like outdoor spaces that feel like the indoors.  This space is like an outdoor living room.

There’s something about large outdoor curtains that scream luxury to me! The bring a little of the indoor out, great for privacy, and creating shade when you need it.

What plans do you have for your outdoor space this season?
