Pinterest

Pinterest is a social media adjacent website that you can use to “Pin” different photos and articles by saving them to what is essentially an online mood board. You might be surprised how many people use Pinterest for things like makeup inspiration, wedding inspiration, and you guessed it – interior design! It’s a great place to go for photos of just about anything you can think of, and therefore an easy way to check out whether your vision would actually look good in real life! Best of all, it’s free!

Instagram

If you are familiar with social media at all, you probably have heard of Instagram or have an account of your own. It works well for people for both personal and business reasons because it is a simple and free way to share photos and information in an aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly format. It’s also a great way to go for inspiration of any kind. There are tons of accounts out there dedicated solely to interior design where you can go to view photos and even ask questions and learn some DIY hacks!

Take advantage of the large community of professional and amateur interior designers on Instagram to figure out exactly what you want to do with your own space. Have some fun with it!

Friends

Looking at your friends’ or family members’ houses can be a great way to see what types of colors and textures complement each other and you may decide to gain some inspiration this way. You can also ask your friends and colleagues what they think will look good in your home or office.

Interior design takes a lot of teamwork sometimes, so don’t be afraid to ask for help. It could also end up being a great way to connect with the people you love.
