    2016 Color Trends

There are always a wide variety of color trends each year and I have to say I love most of them this time! I keep seeing predictions of white’s and neutrals and some colors that compliment them very well.
Spotted! Our Mallory Chairs in Casablanca Geo Citrine They add the perfect layer of color + pattern.:

Citrus colors said to be the pop of color this year that makes every home feel bright and airy.
Love this color scheme. Thinking about doing more of a charcoal grey as the base color and then just throwing in some coral throw pillows and some white ruffled pillows to give the room some texture.:
In addition to citrus, corals and and peaches are being picked as one of the most loved colors.
Custom Drapery - We’re always saying you should hang your drapery as close to the ceiling as possible, but being that curtain panels come in standard lengths, renters are often left with either short panels that end before they reach the floor or a pool of extra fabric thanks to short ceiling heights. Since you’re now working with a fixed height, it’s wise to invest in some tailored drapes perfectly suited to your home’s dimensions.:
While white walls are still widely loved, high contrast colors are too like darker grays and gray blue’s.
Pastels go really well with the color trends this year, so I see those being a big hit as well.
What do you think of the color trends for 2016?
  • Spring Cleaning in Winter

    Spring Cleaning in Winter

I’m not sure what it is about the new year and cleaning but it feels like spring cleaning in here! It might be the sense of purging things I don’t need as a way to get a fresh start, but whatever it is, I love it.
I take everything off the shelves and out of the cabinets, reevalute when the last time I used it and if it’s worth keeping and freshen up the shelves. Here’s some inspiration if you are feeling the winter cleaning buzz:
One of my favorite things to do is sometimes rearrange some stuff. Move one basket you had in one room to another one. It’s amazing how refreshing it can feel simply by being moved. But, if you have lots of random items which you need to move out or rearrange, you can take advice from simplymaids sydney and they always go an amazing job.

If you are needing a whole new look all together, something as simple as fresh fruit or a thrift store find can do wonders!

  • A Look Back at 2014

It’s been a wonderful year on decorology! Our viewers have grown, and I feel like I have as too! This year I got married, moved into a new home, and welcomed a new dog into our family! Here’s a look back on what your favorite posts were in 2014:

When it comes to hanging your clothing, if your space is lacking a built-in closet, a stand-in wardrobe can be just as effective. By adding in shelving, baskets, shoe racks, drawer units and even pin-boards for outfit inspiration, you have a custom closet solution tailored to your personal needs.
The ratings this year say that small is in! It seems we are all trying to downsize with the economy taking a toll on us this year. I’m looking forward to see what we all fall in love with in 2015!
