    An AMAZING home transformation

I’m jealous. Pure Style Home’s Lauren Liess is only in her twenty something’s and has her own interior design business, a family, and one adorable home! What’s amazing is what she started out with only a year ago, and what she’s turned it into. Check it out –

A home that will truly brighten your day

I found the home of this talented lady on Flickr, and I just can’t get enough. She lives in Malaysia with her sons and husband – and is obviously a very talented cook and decorator. Enjoy!

I really like this mirror. Vivaterra has a similar one from recycled boat wood.

One always needs plenty of space for books

Isn’t the cork refrigerator front genius?

A glam Copenhagen apartment with classical touches

Happy Friday! One place we didn’t make it to on our travels but I really, really want to visit is Copenhagen. I don’t think I’d be allowed to just wander around people’s flats though which is – from all the house tour photos I’ve seen, one of the most beautiful aspects of the city.

    so pretty!

    Megan Mullally’s earthy eclectic home

I was surprised when I saw Megan Mullally’s house tour in a recent issue of Elle Decor. I guess because I only know her as Karen on Will and Grace, I didn’t think her personal style would be so laid back because she’s so good at playing a rich NYC elitist.

    What do you think?

    so spa like
Possibly one of my favorite kitchens. It’s so real for a Hollywood star isn’t it?

  • An intriguing and whimsical housetour

    An intriguing and whimsical housetour

I’m leaving for my big trip tomorrow – 9 weeks in 11 different countries. I’m freaking out a little -feeling just completely overwhelmed. I’m going to try to post as often as possible – depending on our hotel(s) internet situation – as I’m not bringing my laptop- yikes! I’m already suffering from phantom laptop syndrome. I know I should be posting something traveling related – but I’m just a little too scatter-brained to put anything together – so I’m going with a tried and true house tour.

This home is really different from anything else I’ve seen before. I think for the most part it somehow manages to avoid being over the top though. What do you think? Too quirky for you?

    great wall color!

A gorgeous starter home with Scandinavian bones and quirky vintage accents

I think this place is so well done for being this couple’s first home. It looks like they either had the same style, or were able to combine them very well. It’s refined, without looking too mature, and is just all around charming. What do you think?

I *ADORE* this bedroom. So soft and pretty and serene.

I really like the dark wood counter tops – it’s a nice contrast with the white.

  • A beautiful, glamorous house to ring in the week

A beautiful, glamorous house to ring in the week

The home of Lizzie Bailey is sooo pretty, glamorous, clean, and crisp – I just had to share it with you right away. Bailey actually majored in English but found her calling as an interior designer while working (and doing a little photo shoot styling), at Better Homes and Gardens. As you can see, she’s found her calling.

The horizontal stripes in the entry way is just great. A smaller space is a great place to go bold if there’s a certain wallpaper or paint treatment you love but are too nervous to use in a large room. It helps create little nooks of interest.

  • A tour of my Brownstone studio apartment

A tour of my Brownstone studio apartment

I was really flattered when Marcela of Deco and Design asked me for a little house tour. Unfortunately since I am currently “without house,” I had to send her photos from a very cute studio apartment I lived in a couple of years ago. It was on the ground floor of a brownstone in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Park Slope. I was even lucky enough to have my own little backyard. When I signed the lease on this apartment is when I really started to get interested in interior design. I had no idea how to decorate a studio and finally didn’t have any roommates and could decorate how I wanted. Most of my furnishings are hand-me-down or cheap finds, as my entire budget went to rent on the place. So, really, this apartment was my first stab at decorating.

You can read her post on my apartment here.
MOSTRÁ TU CASA – LA CASA DE ASHLEY

The apartment had a lot of charming little built-ins, like the pantry above – and the desk and shelves below

The apartment did have a separate eat-in kitchen, which was really nice.

I was always changing things around as you can tell

This is the cooking area. The counter had been covered in a hideous, old, stained yellow laminate, so I went and bought some cheap textured drawer liner and resurfaced the counter for less than $14. It help up surprisingly well. No air bubbles or leaking into the seams or anything.

    A non-working fireplace in my living room/bedroom.

I loved the shutters, hardwood floors, and tin ceiling.

Sorry another blurry shot – this cupboard was also built-in.

So, I know it’s not much, but I love looking back to it!
