  • A 600 sq. ft. California Cabin Retreat

A 600 sq. ft. California Cabin Retreat

Stocked with finds from budget go-to’s like west elm and ikea, this rustic retreat was made beautiful on a modest budget. Even the cabin (it’s a rental) was found on craigslist!

The cabin was built in the 1970’s, but they’ve managed to make the wool paneling look fresh.

The chairs are by West Elm.  I have been scouring Craigslist for a similar table – I love it!

LOVE the chevron poufs – they add a punch of mod to the space.

I could read on this couch all afternoon.

Any retreat needs a well stocked bar. I am a coffee girl above a cocktail girl…so I might have a fancy coffee bar instead.

    Beautiful Cottages

An escape means something different for everyone. For me, it would be a weekend by myself to regroup and not answer any phones, emails, and definitely not look once at a to-do list or calendar. These beautiful cottages would be my perfect escape.
Somewhere by the water and very, very isolated would be perfect for me.

  • Warm and rustic spaces to inspire you to cozy up for winter

Warm and rustic spaces to inspire you to cozy up for winter

Well, we’re expectinh highs of 78 here in Maryland, but we all know winter will be here in the blink of an eye.  Whether you’re a fan of winter or not, these rustic cozy interiors will make evenings indoor a toasty treat.

A glamorous modern chandelier and sleek upholstered headboard nicely contrast the dark wook paneling.

A really cool live edge wood headboard, and wool and fur textures make this the perfect cold weather retreat.

This ceiling has so much vision.  I never would have thought to panel the ceiling in wood planks! All of the textures in the bedding are nice too!

How gorgeous is this hallway and staircase with wood beams?

This kitchen is AMAZING.  Sleek cabinetry and square tiles paired with rough hewn beams, wideplank floors, and that island?!?

Just add a fireplace to this bathroom and it’s perfect for winter nights!

  • Fall Anthropologie that we love

    Fall Anthropologie that we love

Fall 2016 is about nature, layering textures, and pattern

Pink dining room chairs?  Don’t mind if I do!  And out that window?  That’s beautiful Idaho.

The new catalog features a bohemian mid-century modern fusion, which I like

While I like a lot of Anthropologie’s furniture, I’m just as excited to see the locations they shoot in – they always find places with amazing bones!

Wow that molding!  And the herringbone floors!

Anthorpologie is also really into florals and patterns in both there wallpapers and upholstery.  While I like it, I don’t know if I could live with it long term in my house…

    Yes, please.

Love the velvet pink sofa with the neutral textured rug.

This tapestry headboard is pretty amazing.

More from Idaho.  Whatever cabin or lodge they found to stage in looks absolutely beautiful.

What do you think of Anthropologie’s offerings for Fall?

    Gorgeous little cottages and escapes

I have been planning my wedding for over a year and a half now.  My words of advice to the recently engaged – make your engagement as short as possible.  The length of your engagement is in reality the length the wedding planning process takes.  With our wedding on May 24th, planning is almost complete but we are also neck deep in smoothing out the nitty-gritty details that take forever and never seem to end.  I think that couples should also get a honeymoon right before the wedding.  For me, it would be a weekend by myself to regroup and not answer any phones, emails, and definitely not look once at a to-do list or calendar.

ahhh…that hot tub might just make it just right for me…

  • Still a favorite – lovely white interiors

Still a favorite – lovely white interiors

white interiors – I still love them, I think I always will. What’s unique about these is they aren’t cool like most white interiors, but still warm and cozy. Mostly because warm accents are brought in by wood trim and accents.

    Enjoy!
LOVE all the texture on the bed – that’s how to make monochrome work

If that desk were a little bigger this office would be perfect for me!
